Local Product Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Product Planning & Development work is focused on stewarding new products from initial concept through technical research/design/manufacture to product launch including: Identifying market opportunities and associated new product strategies.
  • Developing new product value propositions and targeted feature sets. Developing commercial/pricing strategies (e.g., low price or high quality). Ensuring new product success through close collaboration with research & design, manufacturing, marketing, and sales leadership. Interpreting regulatory requirements and driving approval processes related to product safety, labelling, performance/effectiveness claims, etc.
  • In some organizations may also be accountable for post-launch product service and disposal A Specialist Professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include: Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager.
  • Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals.
  • Product Strategy Develop and execute strategic plans for the implementation of new products in Feeder factory India portfolio in alignment with company objectives and internal customer demand. Drive transfer of product and process from other Hitachi Energy units to Hitachi Energy India Feeder Factory with close collaboration, prepare project time plan, organize management call for regular updates and timely highlight bottleneck to get required support.
  • Identify opportunity for material/ process cost reduction together with Design to Value team. Drive and support localization projects together with DtV team and SCM to optimize product cost. Provide required support to SCM for technical discussion with global product support team. Plan endurance test with inhouse laboratory and co-ordinate with operations team for implementation of newly developed parts in production.Collaboration with R&D team collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to drive product innovation, development, and enhancement initiatives. Participate in discussion with R&D team for timely highlighting improvement opportunity to be considered during development phase of the product. Identify customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the high voltage segment which can be considered during development phase of the product.
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of transfer price to be published for Hitachi Energy internal operating units on half yearly basis, with focus on material cost reduction and optimized overhead cost for all products lines of INFF.Product Lifecycle Management manage and plan product launch, pricing strategies, and obsolescence management together with cross functional team.
  • Sales support provide support to the sales team by developing sales collateral, conducting product training, and participating in customer meetings and presentations.Customer engagement engage with key customers to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and address any product-related issues or concerns.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives.
  • Regulatory compliance stay abreast of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to high voltage products and ensure compliance in product design and development.

Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/ mechanical or related field. Master's degree would add extra advantage preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the high voltage industry.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage products, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to drive product implementation, cost saving and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
