Network Control SCADA Engineer

Mission Statement:

We are looking for a dynamic SCADA Engineer with high technical acumen passionate about working on SCADA EMS/GMS Projects in power utility environment. Exciting opportunity in learning and delivering SCADA Power Network Management technology for major power generation utility with state-of-the-art control center infrastructure environment.

Your Responsibility:

  • You will be working closely with Project Technical Lead for delivery of project deliverables at customer site.  
  • You will configure Network Manager SCADA Database/HMI/displays.
  • You will do maintenance of the SCADA and Front-End System.
  • You will have historical archiving and report creation.
  • You will be management of SCADA Applications – Alarm/Events, SOE, Trends, Operator Notes, Monitoring/Control, Historical Playback.
  • You will support EMS/DMS Engineer in application tuning.
  • You will supervise installation of IT hardware, servers, workstations and displays.
  • You will be testing SCADA Applications at different stages of Project Life Cycle.
  • You will do Backup/ Image handling on servers and workstations and patch management.
  • You will be supporting SCADA EMS expert during System Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • You will coordinate for delivery of customer trainings and workshops.
  • You will follow up with client/consultant for status of design file approvals and comments.
  • You will assist in problem solving and providing solutions.
  • You will cooperate with other teams in different business units and locations.
  • You must have people skills, in particular the ability to work with both international customers and suppliers as a SCADA/EMS/DMS Systems Engineer.
  • You will be consistent reporting of updates from site.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/IT. Master’s Degree in Power Systems Engineering will be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of overall experience. Preferably 2 years in SCADA Control Centre environment for utilities.
  • SCADA, IT background (Virtualization, Database, Network, Cyber Security), Front End Configuration (FEP) Networking, Database & Display.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60870 104, IEC 60870 101, DNP 3 serial, DNP 3 Ethernet and ICCP protocols
  • IT-Infrastructure with knowledge of Servers, Virtualization, Networking, Cloud Infrastructure Firewalls and workstations.
  • Exposure to Cyber Security.
  • Experience in Control Centre SCADA configuration, tuning & testing.
  • Experience in Control Centre System Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of power systems engineering and control systems.
  • Control Centre SCADA system knowledge of any OEM Hitachi Energy/ABB, Siemens, Areva/Alstom, GE, Schneider.
  • Knowledge of SCADA Control Centre Application (Hitachi Energy / ABB NM knowledge is an advantage).
  • MS-Office: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel, work and coordinate with teams in multiple time zones.
  • Proficient in English, able to communicate in an international setting where you will need to collaborate with people from APAC, SWEDEN & USA.
  • Customer engagement, communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion.
