At Hitachi Energy we are investing to establish and develop an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). Therefore, we are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity.

Hitachi Energy provides solutions to electrify and power networks and systems, including power electronic systems for power conversion and quality.
As part of the Spanish Operation Centre, you will be part of a team to support the design, manufacturing and delivery of such technologies all over Europe.
How you'll make an impact
Responsible for Electrical Engineering deliverables in projects, including planning, coordinating, and communicating all technical aspects related to the Electrical scope of work within the project.
Delivering electrical design deliverables in the following areas: Electrical Plant Schematic, Control Cubicle Design, Relay Cubicle Design, Station Power design (after Auxiliary transformer), Cable engineering (< 1 kV), and miscellaneous equipment based on customer specifications.
Turning customer expectations and requirements into safe, qualitative, and cost-effective designs based on base solutions, internal design rules, and national regulations in the country of delivery.
Collaborating within Electrical Engineering, as well as with System, Primary Engineering, Studies, and Civil Engineering teams.
Your background
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar work experience.
More than 10 years of experience in Power Systems, Power quality, Power Grid Solution, Power transmission (HVDC), Substations
Extensive knowledge of Electric Cad system. Zuken E3 and Engineering Base is a benefit.
Knowledge of calculation tools. ETAP is a benefit.
Knowledge of relay configuration.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, governance, and strong communication skills.
Proficiency in English is essential for this role, given the international nature of our work environment. Additional language skills will be highly valued
Required to have availability to travel 20% of the time.
