(Senior) Scientist in real-time/embedded software (f/m/d)

We are looking for a (senior) scientist to strengthen our team at the Hitachi Energy Research Center in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, in the area of software research with focus on real-time/embedded systems. Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to and lead research projects in software with focus on real-time/embedded systems and software architecture applied to power grids and related fields
  • Propose innovative solutions to shape the next generation of software architecture for the green energy transition
  • Build prototypes of developed concepts with business impact
  • Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
  • Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups and vendors
  • Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

Your background

  • PhD in computer science, software engineering or in a related field
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge in software architecture development and engineering, with a special focus on real-time/embedded systems, real-time operating systems (e.g. real-time Linux)
  • Additional experience in software product lines, software analysis tools, communication protocols/stacks, Industrial IoT, or distributed systems is welcome
  • Proven track record of publications at top scientific conferences or journals
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to start on new topics in domains such as grid automation, intelligent systems, and machine learning
  • Excellent communication skills, team player attitude and leadership ambition
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)
