Onboarding HR Operations Lead - Remote

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Onboarding Operations Lead. The role is remote based. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR activities that support the business and key stakeholders (such as HRBPs, Talent Acquisition COE, and Compensation and Benefits CoE). You will be also responsible for implementing, delivering, and managing a centralized On-Boarding Program. This position will be responsible for performing root cause analysis to ensure that the On-Boarding strategy is aligned with the needs of the business. The person in this role will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement and sustainability of the On-Boarding process as well as lead the delivery of program specifics that will ensure that New Employees and Hiring (Transact) Managers within the organization have a seamless HR On-Boarding experience. The scope of this position will include the management of activities from the offer letter generation through the first year of employment. The incumbent will also be responsible for indirectly managing a team.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement an on-boarding strategy and program for multiple employee groups (including salaried, non-union hourly, inpats, international local hires, managers, and executive level positions)
  • Promote the strategic value of on-boarding within the organization
  • Define metrics to measure and monitor program effectiveness
  • Provide strategic direction on On-Boarding initiatives and consult with key business line stakeholders to ensure an enterprise-wide seamless On-Boarding strategy
  • Liaise with other HR functional managers (Talent Acquisition, Payroll Services, HRIS, Employee Services, People Development, Travel and Expense, Compensation, Benefits, and Global Mobility) to understand all necessary work stream impacts and needs as well as ensure clear communication of program purpose, objectives, and achievements
  • Manage activities regarding customer (manager/new employee) care and function as a proactive point of contact
  • Coordinate processes with the business and HR Business Partners to ensure compliance in the field with On-Boarding process standards
  • Coordinate On-Boarding program processes and initiatives with HE Information Technology and Information Systems teams
  • Serve as business owner for Red Carpet tool
  • Partner with global leads through the transition of Red Carpet and the implementation of the Workday Recruiting and Onboarding modules
  • Manage pre-hire activities that encompass offer letter generation, background investigations, and relocation for prospective hires.
  • Own all documentation as the end to end US on-boarding process owner
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff
  • Empower and delegate employees to take responsibility for their job and goals
  • Foster the spirit of teamwork and unity among team members
  • Provide effective performance management and feedback
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, and justifiable in accordance to organization policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain close interaction, communication and two-way feedback between HR Operations, HR Organization and Business areas within the US and off-shore teams
  • Collaborate and interact with all HR stakeholders such as Functions and HRBPs to build / strengthen Hitachi Energy brand recognition in the market, represent HR Operations in internal / external meetings when needed, and drive the execution of required policies / processes / practices to establish a successful HR Delivery within agreed end-to-end SLAs

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree is required- preferably in business, human resources, and/or organizational development and a minimum of 5 years of experience in On-boarding specifically with the Red Carpet (Silk Road) tool.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Strong facilitation skills, training and presentation skills
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
  • Optimistic, positive, and proactive in approach to work
  • Knowledge of the functions, operation, and mission of the HR department
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team/staff members
  • Evidence of ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational management skills
  • Possess high-level computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, internet and intranet, and social media
  • Experience with designing and/or coordinating effective orientation programs/processes preferred
  • Experience with supporting organization wide initiatives
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • SAP and Workday experience preferred
