Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.

We are searching for a Team Lead Strategic Purchasing for our GIS factory in Zürich Oerlikon. You will be responsible for leading the strategic purchasing team and developing and implementing sourcing strategies within the GIS business unit in order to serve the market demand and the customer projects.

Your responsibilities:

• You take the responsibility for our strategic purchasing and the interfaces to stakeholders to achieve business and financial objectives

• You will lead, manage, and develop the team of Strategic Buyers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance

• You set up interfaces and collaborate closely with operational purchasing, sales, R&D, engineering, project management and operations

• You align and collaborate with dotted line SCM functions and global category management to drive our procurement strategy forward

• You will stablish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to set-up and implement supplier relationship and supplier performance management including KPI reporting, you act as escalation point for suppliers

• You conduct market research and industry trend analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities, potential risks, and to gain understanding of the global supply market conditions

• You ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations

Your background

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field; Master's degree or relevant further education would be a plus

• You are a highly experienced procurement professional, with hands-on experience in a strategic procurement leadership role, preferably in the energy or engineering industry

• You have proven ability to lead teams sustainably through change in complex environments while maintaining high performance attitude, intrinsically motivated to collaborate in diverse teams

• You have excellent communication skills, empathy and ability to work across multiple functions and cross cultural, drive actions with internal and external stakeholders

• You are fluent in English and German

• You have good knowledge of SAP (preferably S4/Hana), MS Office
