Hitachi Energy is seeking a MANAGER FOR PROPOSAL AND TENDER MGNT for North America Grid Integration Business Unit. The Grid Integration business is experiencing tremendous growth in EV charging systems, High Voltage Direct Current interconnections, Power Consulting, Power Quality solutions, Semiconductors, Grid Solutions (Substations & Electrification) and many other exciting offerings in North America.

General Information:


Overall responsible for tender projects team at Hight Voltage Substations & Electrification segment (Grid Solutions). In charge of developing a tender team strategy and control tender workload, resources and tender preparation costs algin with sales strategy and customer requirements to meet the orders target in an effective approach. Managing and leading the tender team in its activities from early pursuit, facilitating effective collaboration within the team and across businesses. Assuring full process accomplish by the team and the offer quality reach customer requirements and expectations, also fulfilling the project management requirements, cash flow standards, risk analysis and approval procedures, with a balance for the team workload and targets. Lead the Tender Managment team to consolidate the works from tender project into winning proposal that meet customer expectation based on best technical solution and contract terms align with company policy.

Your Background:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in tender / bidding position.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in High Voltage Substations & Electrification Systems
  • Knowledge of High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear, High Voltage Air Insulated Equipment and High Voltage Power Transformers, and how to integrate the equipment into High Voltage Grid System.
  • Highly prefer to be experienced in an international environment.
  • People lead and people development orientated.
  • Able to engage people in diverse cultures and cross collaborate with different countries at North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) for market coverage and worldwide for internal company collaboration.
  • Proactive in establishing effective relationships and engaging with various team members.
  • Oriented to a leadership role since will lead multi discipline team to interface with all internal company areas and external partners.
  • Understanding of contract law, construction permitting and Insurance.
  • Fully adept in Microsoft Office. Strong analytical understanding and advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience in estimating, negotiations, and development of technical proposals.
  • Experience and Ability to understand the project construction sequence and timelines.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
  • Ability to travel 10-25%.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering turnkey / EPC projects is an advantage.
  • EPC / Contractor / Construction experiences highly preferred.
  • Experience on Power Quality Solutions (FACTS solution like STATCOM, SVC, Synchronous Condensers, etc) > 2 years.
  • Broad knowledge of diverse operations and ability to independently resolve complex problems is a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish or French both written and spoken is a plus.
