This is driving new use cases for battery energy storage and microgrids ― from remote regions not connected to the main grid and facing extreme conditions to urban areas with critical power reliability needs to locales and operators seeking to better manage EV charging.

Vehicle-to-grid is a Fleet Game: Innovations in Charging Technology, Grid Integration and Operations  

Finally, the panel discusses areas of concern for utilities. For example, powering an electric fleet will place high demands on the grid -- particularly during peak hours. The ability of PTAs to shift charging loads to particular times, and include energy storage systems and renewable energy avenues may counterbalance these peaks in demand.

This panel takes on the new math of carbon accounting and supporting technologies ' from carbon liabilities and emissions tracking to renewable energy credits (REC).  Panelists will explore the types of digital capabilities that will be needed to navigate this more active, dynamic, and risky energy trading environment. As utilities work to achieve their sustainability goals, they will rely more on digital tools such as trading platforms and emission trackers, making a new generation of 'carbon accountants' the action heroes of the utility space.
