Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements. Committed to maintaining our technology leadership in fields such as ultra-high-voltage power transmission and smart grids, we are introducing the role of Strategic Buyer for Service at our organization within High Voltage products in Zurich. In this role, you will be responsible for procurement activities within your assigned area, the focus being on executing category strategies in support of our overall business objectives. Your responsibilities

• Responsible for on-time-delivery performance and operational supplier quality
• Responsible for processing orders, following up with suppliers, monitoring deliveries and processing of order deviations and complaints
• Negotiate with supplier prices and delivery time
• Create frame contracts to increase the price competitiveness and material availability
• Procurement of components and assemblies
• Ensure correct and precise master data including monitoring and adjusting system data, working on inventory reduction and handling of error messages
• Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Project Management and Production as well as internal /external Supplier

Your background

• Technical or commercial educational background, with further technical or commercial education
• Several years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in German, both written and spoken; good English skills are an asset
• Solid expertise in SAP and MS Office
