The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Technical Project Engineering focuses on a range of engineering disciplines e.g., electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, structural, automation and software engineering. The activities associated with project engineering include discipline engineering and design; planning, risk assessments; coordination of resources (personnel and equipment). 
 

Your Responsibilities:

• Preparation of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS

• Substation layouts and section drawings preparation for budgetary offers / tenders / projects based on customer specification.

• Basic understanding of secondary design aspects of substations, such as CT VT Sizing, Cable sizing, Protection & Control schemes, LVAC / LVDC supplies, Interlocking, Telecommunication, etc is an added advantage

• Prepare, review and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement

• Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering

• Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.

• Providing optimized and customized solutions for various substation tenders (AIS, GIS, Hybrid).

• Use creativity wherever appropriate to provide best solutions for the given situation within the framework of tender Continuously develop standard templates and databases for tender engineering.

• Planning of review meetings with LPG, work load for team and opex initiatives.

• Vendor Offer Evaulations.  FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.

• Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings.

• Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications.

• Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage

• Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort

• Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system.

• Responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective tenders and projects as per quality process.

Your Background:

• Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical

• 7-10 years exp

• Proficiency in required CAD design tools

• Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.
