International Assignments Advisor (Global Mobility)

The International Assignments (Global Mobility)function manages the relocation, assignment, and immigration processes for our growing population of internationally mobile employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

We are looking for an International Assignments Advisor who will be the speaking partner for the HR business partners of the business units and functions to advise on all aspects of the International Assignment process, policy and compliance matters.
The International Assignment Advisor consults and provides support for the high-level and most complex international assignments and acts as the focal point for other stakeholders within the Hitachi Group.  

The ideal candidate will have experience in the area of Global Mobility, in particular in communicating with all stakeholders involved in the assignment process.

Tasks:

  • Understands business strategy and business drivers and is the speaking partner to both the global HR Business Partners and the business leaders for international assignments.

  • Acts as a consultant on all general enquiries around the IA function, including the assignment process, advising on policy interpretation and exception management.

  • Directly manages high level and/or complex international assignments, acting as the single point of contact for the assignee and family to provide advice in the end-to-end management of their individual assignment.

  • Acts as point of escalation for all stakeholders in the assignment process when required.   

  • Supports best practice sharing activities with the goal to improve the understanding of the assignment process within the business and HR community.

  • Provide any required reporting on International Assignments to the business.

  • Network and relationship management with the key stakeholders and representation of IA at management meetings.

  • Provides feedback on the IA process from the stakeholders
    and has a signaling function in identifying opportunities to improve knowledge, processes and policies to enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a relevant field, which includes Business Administration, Tax or Law, as your basis and at least 5 years of relevant work experience including managing employee relationships.

  • A confident individual that can maintain relationships in the business at varying levels of seniority,possesses excellent communication skills and can interact with people of different cultures and nationalities, enjoys work that is complex and detailed in nature and involves providing an analysis of information and trends back to the business.

  • Strong knowledge of international assignment management, immigration, tax, and employment laws.

  • Team player with good organizational, planning and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple tasks at the same time and able to adapt to changing business needs, while maintaining focus on delivering the results within tight deadlines.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Fluent in English./other European languages are plus.
