Joining Hitachi Energy as Protection Engineer you will be a part of Protection Team in Denmark. At this position you will be responsible for protection engineering design for low, medium, and high complexity projects. Your role is to coordinate engineering assignments within the entire value chain efficiently, time and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specification, quality standards and safety requirements. Position is based in Ballerup, Zealand, Denmark.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare functional design specifications and project scope documents.
  • Prepare protection designs for production and manufacturing.
  • Protection product selection, IED configurations and protection IEC61850 engineering.
  • Developing of new protection solution and full development cycle control (concept design to delivery).
  • Provide technical support during pre-FAT and FAT stage, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.)
  • Support project management in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.)
  • Assists customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors, and other staff.
  • Provide improvement suggestions to drive the development and optimization of processes to reduce the target costs for the Protection Engineering team.
  • Adhere to engineering time estimates, forecasts and reporting deadlines within the role of Protection Engineer and to support others to meet their project timescales.
  • Lead by example regarding health and safety, Hazard identification / reduction.
  • Provide regular project updates, attend technical review meetings, and report progress to the project and line management.
  • Liaise and resolve any customer and internal technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Electrical Industry and in a similar role.
  • Strong design capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Power System.
  • Strong coordination and team work skills.
  • High Technical experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external teams and customers.
  • Understanding of DK electricity industry standards especially Energinet Grid codes.
  • Knowledge of ABB/ Hitachi Energy automation protection products and software’s.
  • Good command over protection engineering discipline including application of conventional and digital substation solutions, resolve any technical issues related to products and solutions.
  • Experience with coordination and supervision work of remote engineering teams.
  • Attend site when needed to resolve technical issues.
  • Driving License.
  • You should be fluent in English - written and spoken. Proficiency in Danish language will be an advantage.
