Join our team in Ludvika as a Procurement Engineer at Hitachi Energy! You'll be crucial in delivering sustainable, high voltage solutions for the global energy infrastructure by securing top-quality components.

You’ll work with suppliers, R&D engineers, category managers, and factory organizations to align supply chain strategies with product development. Your attention to detail will ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries and successful project milestones.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Be the pivotal link in innovation: Represent and act as the SCM interface for new product development R&D projects, ensuring the supply chain strategy aligns seamlessly with engineering objectives and project timelines.
  • Champion streamlined prototype procurement: Manage the entire procurement process for prototype parts -and selecting and evaluating suppliers, facilitating technical discussions, and overseeing on-time, high-quality component deliveries.
  • Drive quality and timely results: Collaborate closely with local prototype suppliers to ensure parts meet stringent quality standards and arrive on schedule, maintaining project momentum.
  • Own key supply chain milestones: Take responsibility for crucial SCM-related benchmarks, including material availability for prototype tests, maintenance of project cost data, PPAP activity management, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Leverage global expertise: Work together with global and regional teams, technical SCM experts to build a strong, qualified supplier base. Your efforts will help optimize costs, improve reliability, and enhance project success.

Your background

  • A degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or similar relevant field.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier networks in casting, machining, forging, welding, and surface treatment.
  • Experience in the switchgear/electrical transmission industry or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP and other ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of processes like Lean Six Sigma and PPAP.
  • Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to foster positive relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English is required.
  • Willingness to travel as required to visit suppliers, oversee prototype inspections, support assembly activities and other business related meetings.
