Transformer Service Sales and Tendering Engineer – Parts & Portfolio Offerings

Seize this opportunity with Hitachi Energy as our Sales & Tendering Engineer for Parts & Portfolio within our Transformers team based in Stone, Staffordshire. In this exciting tendering role, you will be generating spares sales opportunities across the entire product portfolio supporting the Spare Parts business as a focus area for growth. Reporting to our Product Market Manager within our Transformer Service organisation and working in collaboration with our Hitachi Energy service units and factories.

You will have exceptional people skills combined with the ability to operate at a fast pace with a high attention to detail. Your role will be to build long term customer relationships and ensure a swift and timely response to specific customer needs and issues. You will support our Product Market Manager in determining the most appropriate and cost-effective solution and prepare tender documentation and commercial offers based on customer specification requirements.


  • Contribute and drive the overall growth of the Hitachi Energy volume within Transformer Service by increasing the TRES portfolio as well as new business opportunities.
  • Prepare/support preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements.
  • Regularly reports the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for  the success of tenders, where we can improve for those we didn’t secure.
  • Integrate into the wider Power Service Sales Team and other Hitachi Energy business areas developing cross business opportunities.


  • A Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or similar (useful)
  • Some experience in sales and/or tendering
  • Preferably from a background in transformers
  • A passion for sales in a technical setting and familiar with prospecting and closing deals with customers.
  • Willingness to learn Hitachi systems and processes and our product and services and develop knowledge and understanding our customers, service units and factories, parts, and spares.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills.
