You as a Senior Tendering Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Doha, Qatar. You will be responsible for administrating, consulting or negotiating product or service contracts with external customers. You will be developing pre-sales contract strategies and works closely with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals/contracts/bid documents. Negotiating contracts that are consistent with business objectives and engages in contract amendments and renegotiation to accommodate scope changes. Ensuring fulfilment of contractual obligations from contracting parties. Does not require the incumbent to have legal qualification An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. You need to work independently with general supervision. You may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyzing technical and commercial requirements and define products or applications to be used for bid opportunities.
  • Responsible for all technical, financial (costs and prices) and management aspects of bids/estimates/ proposal.
  • Prepared technical/Commercial Proposal/Bid/tender for internal and external customer.
  • Directly responsible for the complete documentation for respective tenders as per the client requirement
  • Taking responsible for compiling or calculating the total costs of project, including materials, services, engineering hours, project management hours and service man-hours. Preparing necessary internal requirement for management approvals. Preparing and attending tender clarifications and negotiations.
  • Ensuring to comply with all the internal processes and requirements like Integrity, OHS, Risk Review etc. Mitigate risks in bids and contracts and lead the Risk Review process.
  • Maintaining relevant backup documents for all bids and proposals.
  • Take responsibility for all associated handover documentation in the event of an order.
  • Booking orders on SAP/Reiwa system and Order handing over to Project team and arrange kick off meeting with internal team for executing orders.
  • Maintaining the data in SFDC.
  • Keeping track of changes and modifications in the project.
  • Be familiar with the general specifications and market requirements.
  • Complete Understanding of Single line diagrams & Equipment arrangement layouts. Reviewing the proposals towards optimized and customized solutions for various tenders (GIS, PASS).
  • Familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices, and measures in place to mitigate the risks.
  • Prepare comparative analysis documents related to specs, price, delivery conditions, and mode of transportation.
  • Analyze and report on tender outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Engaged in the preparation & compilation of the necessary documents, information & technical inputs required for the completion of tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with SCM/feeder factories having good understanding about strategic sourcing and do Vendor Offer evaluations. Finalize the tender sourcing plan appropriately.
  • Review Cash flow documents and the inputs from Contracts & legal teams and take conclusive decisions during submissions.
  • Compiling with the responsibilities as per quality procedures and quality manual.

Your background 

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the sales / tendering / sales support in multinational company is required.
  • Experience with tenders of different size, complexity and scope types.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
