Working with Corporate Functions, the IT Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Manager is a trusted partner working across IT to build, standardise and excel in support of M&A deals. The role is to drive the successful build of an IT M&A Function, responsible for execution of M&A strategies and plans set by Hitachi Energy Executive Team and Business Units. Taking your experience, Hitachi Energy’s strategy and goals, and market best practice to define and develop an IT M&A Function that is integral and value adding throughout the lifecycle of a transaction. This role partners with the Business Leadership, M&A leads and Function leads and represents an opportunity to create a capability and team that seeks to deliver over and above expectations. Your responsibilities

  • You scope and shape a plan to build an IT M&A capability focused on delivering maximum impact
  • You lead effective IT due diligence activities of a target company's technological capabilities, assets and liabilities
  • You are responsible for developing the IT M&A Integration Playbook
  • You take care of execution of divestment projects, working with internal and external resources as required, to deliver on the business goals
  • You define and manage the Engagement Model for IT M&A, aligning responsibilities and accountabilities with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • You manage and lead a team of highly effective IT professionals in a cross-cultural environment, demonstrating consumer centricity, proactive attitude, and a continuous improvement mindset
  • You live core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Your background

  • Experience in similar business lines is advantageous
  • Typically, ~8-10 years of experience in Technology in industry or consulting environments with approx. 5 years dealing with M&A
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate objectives, inspire and motivate staff (direct and virtual), and maintain alignment with business strategy
  • Passion for industry trends and innovation, and how other organizations are using them to drive digital business
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, strategic planning, influencing, negotiations and execution skills
  • Hands-on approach to work, strong sense of ownership and accountability
