Team Leader - HVDC C&C Site Support (NAM)

General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Team Leader - HVDC C&C Site Support (NAM) for its Raleigh, NC location.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as team leader for the Site Administrator/Project Site Coordinators, Site Document Controllers, Site Logistics Coordinators and other site support functions employed/delegated to HVDC Converter Station construction sites in the North America Region (NAM), including USA, Canada and Mexico.
  • Collaborate with the department Head in the clarification and definition of the targets and deliverables for the team. Manage the team workload.
  • Raise concerns from the team to the department Head and follow up on mitigation/resolution actions
  • Discuss development needs of the team with the department Head and collaborate in the definition of the appropriate trainings and training plan
  • Raise any escalation needs of the team
  • Communicate and discuss the resource loading and planning of the team
  • Act as entry point for all jobs and activities required from the team
  • Schedule and run regular coordination meetings with the team
  • Create and maintain necessary collaboration and networking with other teams, departments and stakeholders related to the activities of the team
  • Track and oversee the on-time deliverables of the team
  • Ensure compliance and quality of the activities performed by the team
  • Treat all team members with respect and maintain an open-door policy towards any and all of the team members
  • Coach and mentor the team members
  • Support the recruitment of new employees to the team, by either screening and/or participating in the candidates’ interviews
  • Represent the team in meetings with other departments and teams
  • Prepare review presentations about the activities of the team for the department Head
  • Track and present key performance indicators related to the performance of the team’s scope of activities
  • Additional specific tasks assigned by the Head of the Department in relation to the activities and deliverables of the team
  • Support the creation of job requisitions for the hiring of internal and contingent workers in the site support function area.
  • Ensure consistency of work among all members of a particular discipline assigned to different projects
  • Other tasks associated to the site support roles required in construction sites within the NAM region
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new resources and quick ramp up on the knowledge required to perform their work

Your Background:

  • Bachelor degree in an administration field
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Previous experience as a Site Administrator, Site Document Controller or Site Logistic Coordinator on a construction site is a plus
  • Proven experience working on construction sites and managing resources
  • Experience with the activities of different site support functions on constructions sites, such as but not limited to Site Administrators, Site Document Controllers, Site Logistics Coordinators.
  • Fluent in English language, oral and written
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to create, foster and maintain a good team spirit and collaboration atmosphere
  • Resilient, resourceful and proactive
  • Right to work in the United States of America
  • Required to travel regularly to construction sites to coach/mentor employees and also assess performance of the team
  • Willing to relocate to Raleigh, North Carolina to work in the Hitachi Energy office
