General information:

Hitachi energy is seeking an Engineering Material Planner for its Raleigh, NC location. This role is responsible for plans, schedules and manages the efficient movement of material from Bill of Material to a formalized requisition for purchase. Develops components requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production for all the Grid Edge Solutions in USA and Canada. The major focus will be on developing a strong planning base, while ensuring best cost and quality, on-time delivery, and material availability for the businesses. Responsibilities:

Assembles and analyses all data pertinent to creating a constrained engineering plan (creating the purchasing requisition on SAP), uses rough-cut and detail capacity planning and links it to the demand plan. The schedules are for customer approval drawings, bill of materials and detailed manufacturing information. Work in partnership with the SCM team in identify items that should have inventory and with engineering's to identify life cycle. Use MRP (Materials Resource Planning). Calculates and maintains in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies Obtains sign-off from engineering and project managers and provides the result as an input to the integrated business planning process. Identifies capacity constraints, prepares capacity chart, and develops and implements solutions and mitigation plans in the engineering schedules. Monitors Engineering Work in Progress - WIP, recommends WIP rationalization initiatives. Identifies key root causes for deviation from the engineering plan and implements initiatives to improve future adherence to the plan. Leads the coordination meeting, participate in sales inventory and operations planning reviews and production meetings. Coordinate with engineering and project managers on drawings and drawing approvals.

Your background:

Associated or Bachelor's in supply chain, engineering, or related field with minimum 5 years relevant work experience OR this role can be filled at a more junior level should the candidate have technician or certified formation in planning and engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States Relevant experience in planning and or procurement of industrial and capital good. Familiarity of electrical and structural equipment (electrical panels, e-house, site work contracts, buildings, power transformers, cooling systems, capacitors, electrical switchgear, insulators, steel, etc.) supply market. Adequate technical knowledge about electrical equipment to work effectively with engineers and suppliers is a plus. Proficiency in English, written and spoken alike. Desirable knowledge of SAP and planning tool Must have excellent analytical capabilities to analyze different items usage supply markets. Extensive experience working with high-volume and/or high-complexity components (electrical and machined) preferred. Position is based at our Raleigh, NC. Hiring manager is open to remote work for the right candidate. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
