HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Classic and HVDC Light are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. It is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used. HVDC Light(R) is a power transmission technology developed by Hitachi Energy that offers additional benefits compared to HVDC Classic.
Responsibilities:
Supporting projects for HVDC Valve Design. Managing the scope, budget and schedule while ensuring quality requirements are met. Interface with other departments in HVDC organization and representing your Valve Design team in project and tender meetings and discussions. Participate in technical design reviews and in technical problem solving. Responsible for the technical coordination of Valve Design deliveries as well as managing the risks. Coordinate cross-functional teams, Stakeholders, Product Owners and Line management.
Your background:
Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Mechanical is preferred. Minimum 3+ Years of experience in HVDC domain. Basic knowledge of Power System equipment and its purpose. Example, Thyristor & IGBTs valves, Capacitors, Reactors etc. Preferably, you have project management experience from working in engineering and are familiar with managing Valve delivery projects or tenders. Working experience in HVDC technology will be an added advantage. Strong interpersonal communication skills and fluent English.
