HR Business Partner - US Transformer Services

General Information:

As a core member of the local Business Management Team, provide HR support to US Transformer Services employees within North American Hub.    Support and coach leadership teams, managers, and employees to ensure effective and sustainable workplace relations and performance in close collaboration with broader HR team.  The HR Business Partner will support union and non-union employees within the Transformer Services business throughout the United States and will be accountable for the following: 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with managers and employees to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through HR practices, processes, or policies.
  • Partner with leadership team to drive employee engagement efforts through all levels of the organization
  • Acts as consultant, sparring partner, coach, and facilitator to business leaders
  • Oversee implementation of HR processes at the location, ensuring compliance with group policy and guidelines. Provides feedback and inputs on relevant local statutory or regulatory requirements into the development and implementation of new or improved processes/products/services.
  • Partner with unions to ensure win/win outcomes, developing positive union relationships.
  • Coach/counsel Managers and employees on the most effective solutions to resolve organizational issues.
  • Develop and drive talent outcomes and implement the businesses people strategies.
  • Works closely with Talent Partners to ensure a healthy and sustainable talent pipeline in the organization considering internal Talent pool and external market.
  • Drives and executes all talent processes with Business Leaders; e.g. identification and succession planning on business critical positions, diversity and inclusion, own talent outcomes. Where appropriate is directly involved in the recruitment of peer level positions.
  • Support business goals and initiatives by ensuring relevant people capabilities and organizational effectiveness in close collaboration with the HR network.
  • Carry out training and communication on HR strategy, policy, and processes when necessary
  • Represent business needs and provide continuous improvement feedback in interface with HR Centers of Excellence (CoE)  and Global Business Services (GBS).
  • Apply HR policies, including Labor Relations (in relevant sites), through partnership with Business Unit and Country HR.
  • Occasional travel within the United States will be required as needed (10%-15%) depending on primary location and business needs.

This position will report to the North American Hub Functional Human Resource Business Partner and functionally to the Transformer Services business leader.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; advanced degree a plus
  • 2+ years relevant experience within Human Resources desired
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Industrial Relations, or other relevant areas of study
  • Experience supporting employees in a union environment or labor relations knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge/experience working with CA employment law
  • Previous experience working within matrixed organization desirable but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, influencing and communication skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • High comfort level working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated initiative as well as project management skills
  • High comfort level working autonomously and requires little day-to-day oversight and direction
  • Hybrid work location:  St. Louis area based candidate preferred (in offer 3 days/week);  off-site/remote based candidates will be considered.
