Primary Function:
Follow all safety and work procedures to stock parts in correct locations, visually inspect parts and components, wind condensers, assemble/disassemble/clean molds, load/unload clamping machines, prepare epoxy, monitor casting processes, operate curing ovens, assemble flanges and terminals, extrude silicone sheds, prepare bushings for testing, transport bushings to test and perform visual inspections.
Employee Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED. One year of experience in a manufacturing assembly setting that requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude. Must be able to read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and assembly drawings. The ability to operate a computer and learn specialized programs as needed to prefer job functions. Able to be medically qualified to wear a respirator. Able to stand and/or walk on hard surfaces for up to 10 hours per day. Able to regularly pick up and manipulate up to 35 pounds safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Any postsecondary education that demonstrates mechanical aptitude. Two years of experience in a manufacturing assembly setting. One year of experience reading and interrupting assembly drawings.
Quantity Standard:
Based on load plan and production schedule.
Quality Standard:
O Plus Dry condenser bushings will be manufactured to meet internal procedures and specifications, industry standards and customer requirements.
Environmental Conditions:
The workplace is climate controlled and shall be kept organized, free of clutter, clean and free of all contaminants.
Tools and Safety Equipment:
Steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required personal protection equipment. Gloves and powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) are job specific. Standard and custom hand tools, pneumatic tools, battery powered tools, material manipulators, overhead cranes, lifting devices, computers, custom fixtures and forklift.
Material:
Epoxy compounds, ethyl and isopropyl alcohol, mold release, cleaning solutions, adhesives, O-rings, aluminum/copper/brass machined components, primer, and silicone.
Direction of others:
None required.
Direction Received
Must be able to work within a team structure with minimal supervision on routine tasks. Additional direction as needed for non-standard assignments.
Training obligation:
Continuous training on new equipment or new processes within the O Plus Dry condenser bushing area and based upon additional assignments.
Other requirements:
Strong team based work ethic, good verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Willingness to cross-train between jobs in the area.
