As a Business Controller you will act as a business partner to the local-cluster execution team leads to optimize financial performance within the assigned reporting Unit(s) within a Country or in a cluster of Countries. You will support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate alternatives, recommend and support implementation of the most appropriate solutions.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategy: Contributes as key partner to the local and cluster execution team leads in determining and developing the execution model in alignment to the OU strategy.
  • Business forecasting and performance: Translates financial position into realistic forecasts and establishes actions and measurable targets to enhance financial return. Manages the forecasting process for Local Unit(s), evaluates financial implications, builds scenarios, and recommends actions. Monitors the financial performance of the Local Unit(s), provides insight and analysis to support operational decision making. Identifies issues and supports management on action plans to drive appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization, and capital efficiency. Manages and closely monitors the cash flow and takes action to improve Net Working Capital.
  • Risk Management: Supports the tender risk management process related to the scope assigned to the Local Unit(s), mainly regarding tender calculations (full cost model), project cash flow and exposure analysis including foreign exchange, risk and opportunity assessments and other commercial items. Assesses commercial and financial risks, defines and follows up actions to mitigate impact on project performance.
  • Project Controlling: Supports project controllers and Project Managers in all financial and commercial matters and actively drive the performance of the projects supplied by the Local Unit. Drives project cash flow and oversees currency risk and tax issues.
  • Internal controls and financial reporting: Ensures transparency in financial reporting and disclosures within the area of responsibility. Supervises adherence to Internal Controls to secure correctness of financial reporting (ABACUS) following the applicable Company / BU / Hub and Country standards, regulations, and guidelines. Supports the remediation of identified deficiencies (GRCM). Establishes and oversees processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information. Ensures high quality of financial data and business information in line with defined standards (IFRS) and financial closing schedules.
  • Communication and knowledge sharing: Facilitates best practice sharing in consistency with controlling practices within the OU, Hub and Country/CSS. Ensures timely and efficient communication with relevant OU Controllers, Finance Group functions and other internal functions to identify and drive continues improvement.
  • People leadership and development (if applicable for larger Reporting Units): Supports the development, staffing and direction of the Local Controlling Organization in collaboration with HR Business Partners and the OU leadership team. In case of direct reports, ensures that the Local Controlling Organization is organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background

  • Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance MBA is an advantage
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years business controlling experience in a leadership position, project controlling and Power and/or T&D industries experience of advantage.
  • Skills Good knowledge of SAP. Customer and business oriented, strong commercial and communication skills. Leading teams.
