Hitachi has completed its acquisition of a majority stake in ABB Power Grids, creating a new business aimed at tackling the renewable and distributed energy frontiers of the power industry. Hitachi Energy is the new company formed. Hitachi Energy inherited a large portfolio of applications (more than 3’000 apps) from ABB and started an initiative to simplify this landscape. This simplification requires a deep understanding of the business processes covered by the applications to identify overlaps, as well as a structured process to monitor the rationalization execution. The Senior Project Manager will create and drive the rationalization execution process and owns the realization of the cost savings. Additionally, he will support, where required, the application managers to drive actual application decommissioning, including data migration and archiving. Finally, the Senior Project Manager will organize and execute the governance required to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are fully supporting the StAR program.

Your responsibilities

• Drive application rationalization process
• Owns cost savings realization
• Execute StAR governance
• Monitor StAR project spent and timely reports deviations to budget
• Own RAID register, define and monitor mitigations
• Create POs for timely onboarding of project external resources and monitor invoices
• Engage with relevant stakeholders and support, where required, application managers for apps decommissioning
• Define requirement / implement tools required for StAR

Your background

• Experienced leader with absolute integer behavior
• Extensive experience mobilizing and motivating large horizontal teams and setting-up project management processes
• Motivated self-starter, with a keen interest in developing and implementing the best practice, creative solutions to the services and the business
• Experience in IT Enterprise Architecture and Finance acumen
• Good command of English, German is a plus
