Hitachi Energy is seeking an IT/OT Cyber Technician for its Raleigh, NC location. Local candidates highly preferred. Hiring manager open to candidates within a few hours driving distance from Raleigh, NC. This position requires 50% travel nationwide to site locations from a week to a few weeks in duration. This role is responsible to support Cyber security services associated with Flexible AC Transmission systems (FACTS), High Voltage DC (HVDC) and HV Substations.

Your responsibilities

• Installation and configuration of windows machines, virtual machines, and industrial devices.
• Provision of virtual machines from various types of backup files.
• Execute backup and restoration of computers, industrial and network devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication issues between computers and other networked devices.
• Apply patches on devices and execute functionality tests.
• Produce documentation and reports from tests and activities executed.
• Travel approximately 50%

Your background

• Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in IT and networking.
• Windows operating system fundamentals - Installation and configuration, User administration, Policies, Backup and restore, Networking.
• Networking fundamentals - Network architecture, network communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, SMB, DNS, Network shares, switches and routers configuration, no vendor specific, network setup and configuration on windows machines.
• Security fundamentals - Threats and vulnerabilities, Standards, such as NIST 800, IEC 64443, NERC CIP.
• Working knowledge of these tools - Wireshark, nmap, VMWare.
• Ability to travel 50% nationwide to site locations from a week to a few weeks in length.
• Candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Certifications: A+, Network+, Security+
