Hitachi energy is seeking an Senior Software Architect for its Broomfield, CO location. This role is responsible for the technology and architecture within the Enterprise Software Solutions (ESS) product groups in the PGGA business unit. The products include asset management and performance solutions, workforce management solutions, energy market participant solutions, and mining solutions. The ESS Software Architect will collaborate with the Enterprise architects, and the product level architects within Enterprise Software, to jointly produce the solution/application architectures necessary to fulfill the product roadmaps.

Your responsibilities

  • Architect server-side and front-end applications for on premise and cloud deployments
  • Explore and prototype solutions by apply new and best-fit technologies
  • Develop and evangelize technology strategy and common practices within the product groups
  • Be the technical spokesperson representing R&D at the Product Management table
  • Lead research and innovation pilot projects
  • Provide Leadership for the Global Architects and UX staff
  • Create/update and manage security threat models to ensure security requirements are met under the many products and programs
  • Analyze current technologies stacks (both backend and frontend) used by various programs and products with ES and identify improvements (replacement, re-architect, re-factor)
  • Review, monitor, and validate requirements needed to institute proposed updates
  • Lead technical teams by providing detailed architecture specifications (4+1 views and Solution Architecture Document (SAD))
  • Establish near and long-term architectural direction and technology rationalization within the Enterprise Software product group portfolio
  • Manage the integration of, and evolution to, industry-accepted implementation and operational models for portable, scalable deployments on-premise and cloud
  • Leverage relevant technology such as micro-service architecture, container orchestration.
  • Advise management on technology items related to server-side systems, cloud, data analytics, mobile, and integration as well as general IT trends.
  • Contribute to, and represent, Enterprise Software in PGGA Group wide initiatives
  • Manage software-related IP strategy and reviews

Your background

  • Excellent understanding of design patterns and architectural styles.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Extensive knowledge of the software development process and corresponding technologies.
  • Strong soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of asset management structures and hierarchies associated with architecture is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Physics or Math.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experiences in enterprise and/or solution architect role.
