You as a Project Controller, will be part of Power Grids Grid Automation will be reporting to Operating Unit Controller. You as the Project Controller, will be part of the Hitachi Energy business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. A Project Controller is responsible for ensuring maintenance and completeness of project files for projects > 1MZAR and with effective communication and project review meetings ensure SOX compliance. regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with SOX procedures
• Involved in hand over of new project from proposals to operations
• Project controlling for PS module contracts >1MZAR (run by Project manager)
• Ensures regular informal contact with project managers regularly to discuss the status of their jobs
• Conducts formal monthly project reviews
• Review hours booked to contracts and recoveries to cost centers to ensure their accuracy, generation of missing timesheets reports
• Assists SBU managers with generation of employee hours utilization data
• Apply for Bonds and Guarantees, maintenance of Guarantees registers
• Ensures maintenance of complete contract files
• Ensures that invoicing is done accurately and timeously on all contracts
• Pre-approves of applications for forward cover
• Performs foreign exchange and CPA calculations
• Assists with debtor related queries
• Monitors of sales order integrity for correct data parameters e.g., order type, distribution channel, salesman etc.
• Ensures the monthly update of planned costs and estimates to complete
• Monitor & reports on overdue milestone & completion billing
• Monitor & manage project cashflows
• Monthly monitoring & reporting on contract risks & opportunities
• Implements an effective contract / sales order close out process including TECO ‘ing of related production orders, clearing o/s commitments etc.

Your background

• Should have 1 or 2 years of experience in project controlling.
• A graduate degree in finance or accounting or commerce.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Financial accounting experience.
• PS module experience in SAP.
