Hitachi energy is seeking an Senior Quality Engineer for its Alamo, TN location. This role is responsible for review and coordinate quality assurance and quality control specifications. Develop or evaluate quality programs, measure quality activities and coordinate quality functions. Recommend and implement measures to improve effectiveness of quality operations and to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Define and develop quality assurance requirements to ensure conformance to specifications. Conduct internal audits of the quality system to ensure conformance to quality requirements and the ISO standard. Complete 8D's or technical reports for customer issues. Recommend measures to optimize operations while maintaining quality. Develop Control Plans as required, team-based support. Develop PFMEAs as required, team-based support. Develop/maintain procedures, work instructions and forms to support the quality management system. Provide quality support to operations. Participate/Lead in the investigation of technical problems, as well as the establishment of procedures and CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) to avoid recurrences. Provide guidance to the quality technicians as required. Support or lead Kaizen events and activities Support ITM initiatives and activities Make recommendations for measuring equipment needed. Your background:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States Minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience working in engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality. General knowledge of the use of tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (e.g. BSEE). Strong analytical skills, especially with data analysis, is heavily preferred - proven experience working with failure analysis, FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis). Recent experience working with data-driven analytical methodologies for industrial quality applications - especially Statistical Process Control [SPC], Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance (Pp, PpK) Analysis. Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g. Kaizen, 4Q, DMAIC, Gemba, Root-Cause Analysis [RCA]; etc.). Recent professional experience working in Quality Engineering functions - experience working in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong familiarity with ISO-9001 standards is preferred; expertise in ISO-16949 will also be considered. Experience working with transformer systems and/or related technologies (e.g. electromagnetics / magnetics, induction systems, power electronics, power products, inverters, etc.). Experience working in product development and manufacturing. Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
