Exempt Status: Function: OPS
Basic Function: Under general supervision, performs a variety of domestic and international shipping/receiving tasks. Responsible for the retention and verification of all shipping records, checked against bills of lading, invoices and orders. Verifies that materials received are as ordered in both type and quantity. Route incoming items to various locations. Prepares appropriate documentation for domestic and international shipments.
Typical duties/responsibilities for field service may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under general supervision, prepare domestic and international documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods and related items. Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routing are correct.
Maintain files and records of shipping/receiving documents for domestic and international transactions.
Unload incoming deliveries. Verify that materials received are as ordered in both type and quantity. Route incoming shipments to proper departments or destination.
Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments.
Perform duties in a manner compliant with prevailing quality procedures and policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Complexity of Tasks: Follow standard practices and procedures in resolving basic and complex problems. Decisions are usually based on established precedents and may affect quality and accuracy. Refer complex problems to supervisor.
Qualifications: High School degree plus 2-5 years of related experience in shipping and receiving, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
