Responsible for proper use and maintenance of required personal safety protective equipment and understanding proper hazardous waste material handling. Check materials/units to assure receipt and completion according to specifications. Identify and report material irregularities and equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and/or department. Receive or determine work assignments after schedules, production authorization, logbooks, overdue reports or other appropriate information sources have been reviewed. Keep work area clean, orderly and in safe condition. Read and interpret drawings as required. Locate required parts per broadcast sheet or parts list. Operate equipment to determine transformer leaks. Perform structural and/or oil-tight welding on carbon or stainless steel seams to meet specifications. Grind and clean repair areas and operate welding equipment to repair structural or oil tight welds selecting proper wire or electrodes and adjusting control settings such as; gas flow, heat and wire feed. Perform other duties such as; grind and clean welds, remove and/or replace bushings and fuses, touch up paint on repaired area, align component parts including pads, studs, parking stands, lifting hooks, centering rings, bolt-on-brackets, etc… Order materials and supplies as needed. Complete required feedback and all necessary manufacturing information documentation daily or as required.
