R&D Engineer - Electronic Design

Our R&D engineers develop the next-generation technologies in power electronics converters, which supply railways with electricity, drive turbines and pumps in Pumped Hydro Storage Plants, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid.  As an electronic design engineer, you will work in our global R&D organization on a specific development project critical to Hitachi Energy needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.

Our team is a part of Hitachi Energy’s Technology and Solutions, is in Turgi (Switzerland) and Krakow (Poland) and is responsible for the development of semiconductor-based medium voltage (MV) modular converter platforms. We develop converter platforms for applications like Static Frequency Converters, STATCOM or Pumped Hydro Storage. For our growing team in Krakow, we're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas to make the power grid greener and smarter as we continue to push the technology forward.

In this role, you get a broad network of contacts within Hitachi Energy's global organization and a good insight into how we work in different functions at Hitachi Energy. You will work in an inclusive environment with a team of highly skilled professional, and friendly colleagues who will help you grow with the tasks. You will report to Shabnam Mardani, R&D manager in Turgi, Switzerland and will be supported by Agnieszka Wojtysiak, R&D technology manager in Krakow.

In Hitachi Energy we are extending more possibilities to work remotely, from home and/or from offices in other cities. The work/life balance is important for us. Please find out more about our world leading technology at https://www.hitachienergy.com/
