R&D Engineer – Performance Testing Hitachi Energy is looking for Performance Testing who specialize in Load Testing of Applications to join our team, grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and test products that empower our customers. Every day, you’ll work with team members across disciplines testing highly available, scalable, and reliable software. The performance testing Engineer works on technical challenges and facilitates collaborative efforts within the scrum team and across product teams, in support of the frequent delivery of quality software to the customer The candidate will join a very collaborative and dynamic team of technical experts. The Quality Assurance team is passionate about ensuring the most effective and efficient IT solutions are implemented to meet current and future business needs A performance test engineer’s primary responsibility is the creation and maintenance of performance test plans, utilizing Linux based load generation scripts or Load Runner or JMeter load testing software to inject load, analyzing metrics from application and system logs, and simulating system behavior to improve the performance and reliability of applications The candidate should also have enthusiasm for troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving complex problems, must demonstrate strong problem solving and communication skills, and be prepared to be an expert performance engineering resource on multiple initiatives of diverse scope
Your responsibilities
- As a R&D Engineer – Performance Testing for Enterprise Software R&D Unit you will be a part of the respective local department, but also report to the R&D Team Manager.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to understand technology requirements for key projects
- Evaluate application architectures and design performance test plans
- Establish performance test objectives, validate acceptance criteria, workload profiles and use case scenarios
- Measure and analyze performance data (workload, system, and application)
- Solve complex problems and provide clear and concise reports with recommendations
- Work closely with development teams, architects, and engineers to test their products under load and make recommendations to improve performance, reliability, and stability
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field with 3 to 6 years’ experience in Performance Testing.
- Expert skills in one or more load testing tools (e.g., Unix/Linux Load generation scripting, Load Runner / Jmeter or equivalent, Zabbix, Jira / Zephyr Scale)
- Expert knowledge of Linux (Unix) commands and scripting language
- Proven data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, AzureDevOps will be added advantage
- Basic understanding of SQL, PostGres
- Strong self-driven collaborator with ability to work in diverse teams as a contributing member
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English with Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
