Continuous Improvement Leader - Remote

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader. This role will report directly to the Enterprise Software Solutions Quality Manager. The CIL role is to establish and maintain a framework and pipeline of continuous improvement projects, driving tangible benefits to the business and supporting ISO 9001 certification. The CIL will also lead other improvement actions such as RCAs, Kaizen and Ochibo Hiroi events in order to enhance business performance and customer satisfaction further.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and drive improvement projects, targeting customer satisfaction, timeliness and cost goals, by working with all functions and ensuring that improved processes are established in the AMS with appropriate training
  • Use a data-driven approach to identify issues and root causes, and monitor the success of improvement actions
  • Continually challenge conventional thinking and drive accountability for operational results for all organizational structures within Enterprise Software globally
  • Collaborate with software groups in Hitachi Energy and other Hitachi entities to share and leverage best practices in improvement projects
  • Act as a Role Model and Change Agent for the behavior required to support a Quality Culture. Influence Senior Managers and Peers to ensure the correct thinking and decision making required to support the implementation and execution of Quality Strategies
  • Act independently as an internal advocate for customers in Quality related issues and decisions
  • Ensure the Voice of the Customer is represented within the business, utilizing customer feedback processes like customer surveys, complaint resolution and result of customer feedback data analysis.
  • Monitor and utilize data from all parts of the business to identify risks, failures, non-conformances and improvement opportunities within the businesses. Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken, and solutions are managed to closure.
  • Drive towards a learning organization enhancing lessons learned, best practice and audit processes
  • Ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment; attendance at required health, safety and environment training; report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or other numerate discipline and a minimum 5 years’ experience in quality management in a software company.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Demonstrated skills in running improvement events such as RCAs, Lean Action Workouts, Kaizen and Ochibo Hiroi events
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, a minimum 5 year track record of strong people management and leadership of multicultural teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, specifically MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Effective communication at all levels, from senior leadership to individual contributors
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Quality assurance knowledge of tools and methodologies
  • Certification programs in Six Sigma, Quality Improvement associate, quality auditor
  • Change Management, Strategic Planning, Risk Management
