Hitachi energy is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician for its Jefferson City, MO location. This role is responsible for development, introduction, and application of controls such as electro-mechanical, electric controls, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) to support company products. The role will plan and execute complex technical assignments, coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments, recommend and implement solutions to improve operations and maintenance that may include the introduction of new equipment and changes in procedures.
Your responsibilities
- Work in close association with engineering, operations, and maintenance to maintain and improve electrical and controls systems throughout the factory. Function as a resource to less experienced technicians and to professional staff in assimilating technical requirements into practical applications.
- Maintain or provide guidance for maintenance of a wide variety of systems. Provide support, ensure accuracy of information and responsiveness to customer requirements. Lead and coordinate the work of less experienced staff and provide training and support to users.
- Perform complex technical work on various projects including analyzing and interpreting data, preparing schematics and diagrams, developing parts lists, integrating into existing system requirements, and making recommendations to improve controls systems software and hardware
- Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve complex problems, and develop and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Recommend and implement modifications or upgrades to improve operations and control costs.
- May work nonstandard schedules in varying environmental conditions.

Your background
- Associates Degree in engineering or related field with Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience, or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, development, test, and implementation of multiple machine control solutions including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, and National Instrument Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming.
