General information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Program Manager Distribution Automation NAM for it's Raleigh, NC location. This role is Responsible for establishing the strategic direction for market approach, sales campaigns and building of market share for Hitachi Energy, specifically as it relates to the products and systems required for the delivery of the Distribution Automation Solutions.This role will provide guidance and support to the existing Sales & Marketing teams, the Product Applications Engineering team as well as the Systems Engineering & Technical Project Management Team. It is a critical role for the establishment of Hitachi Energy as the market leader in Distribution Automation. This role will also have the southeastern US regional technical sales responsibility to further strengthen the present Hitachi Energy customer adopting and implementing our digital substation and distribution automation solutions. The role will also work in close collaboration with the North American Regional Program Manager, Digital Substation to ensure alignment on team goals, leveraging Hitachi Energy's core technology based on IEC 61850 standard to create superior market differentiators.

Responsibilities:

Establish a strategic direction and plan for Hitachi Energy's approach to the Distribution Automation market which optimizes all internal sales and technical resources. Ensure that the direction is carried out within the business working across regional country lines (US, Canada and Mexico) to identify and evaluate all sales opportunities, aggressively pursue customer relationships that support long-term partnership involving deployment of the Distribution Automation Solutions. Manage and mentor the NAM regional technical sales and application engineering team. Manage all technical support activities as it relates to the Distribution Automation including: Develop and deliver training sessions for FES, customers and Hitachi Energy personnel. Developing and delivering technical presentations to match sales and marketing strategies for individual customer opportunities. Mentor, coach and advise technical personnel in the Grid Automation/AC organization on the products required to implement the Distribution Automation. Strategic Goals: Assist in preparation of overall business strategy as it relates to the growth of the Distribution Automation portfolio including the wireless solutions. Develop and maintain key customer relationships/alliances, through the sales and execution processes and become the "Go-To" for the Distribution Automation Solutions. Grow the Distribution Automation Solution business from less than a $1M business to a $10M business by 2025. Overall responsibility for technical positioning, competitor analysis and selling Hitachi Energy value as it relates to the Grid Automation/AC (Automation and Communication) complete offering. Develop/build strong relationships with the Hitachi Energy product marketing managers and front end sales centralized resources. Develop and build a highly motivated, creative and sustainable sales and marketing team. Build technical training & development plan for the Grid Automation/AC engineering and marketing teams to ensure knowledge transfer of application and customer engagement. Additional Responsibilities: Partner with management team members to execute the full business strategy, with specific focus on the Distribution Automation Solutions. Generate new accounts/pull through business, Maintain informative reporting through use of Hitachi Energy tools, Continual assessment of the proposal process and implementation of improvement, Evaluate and manage risk assessment during proposal phase and review process, Develop annual budgets and prepare monthly metrics to track progress on key areas such as orders, margin, hit rate, proposal expense, won/loss analysis, etc. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting. Retaining personnel by providing growth and challenging opportunities.

Your background:

Master's Degree (6 years) MS in Engineering. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Extensive knowledge and experience of IEC61850 standards and Hitachi Energy's product portfolio. Minimum 5 years of combined experience with demonstrated accomplishments in technical solution development, customer support, power system protection, control and automation engineering, system integration and system commissioning. Experience in substation industry with proven success in ability to engage customers at both technical and commercial levels of discussion. Minimum 5 years' of experience. Hands on experience with minimum 5 years' of experience in IEC 61850 communication standard's based solution supporting the pre-sales, project execution and system maintenance. Hands on experience over entire business cycle of winning, implementing, and delivering customer projects in the area of energy market systems.
