The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Responsibilities
Preparation and Review Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects. Preparation and Review Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings.
Understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing.
Ensure the Safety through design principles which meant for complete project lifecycle.
Technical data sheets verification of equipment’s.
Knowledge of equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers.
Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system & follow OPEX initiatives .
Background
Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical.
Should have 7 to 10 years of experience.
Proficiency in required CAD design tools (AutoCAD, BIM Tools, BIM 360)
Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial)
