Your responsibilities

• Develop new technologies and products in the area of oil filled Traction Transformers and Medium Frequency Transformer to increase performance, reliability and cost effectiveness of our products

• Analyze cost drivers of state-of-the-art TTs and suggest technical activities targeting to decrease material and production costs

• Coordinate and participate to the above-mentioned cost-savings technical activities.

• Run feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, calculate and simulate their expected performances.

• Interact with suppliers for technical questions linked to the new cost-savings concepts.

• Design prototypes or mockups which implement the previously developed cost-savings technical concepts and create documentation (specifications, 3D, BOM and drawings)

• Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/products.

• Support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to other functions by writing design rules and executing trainings

• Provide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing and sales etc.)

Your background

• MSc education in mechanical engineering or BSc with > 10y of work experience

• Work experience in the field of oil filled transformers, preferably Traction Transformers.

• Advanced knowledge of 3D CAD tools and PLM (preferably PTC Creo and Windchill)

• Track record of complete transformers mechanical design (lead engineer)

• Understanding of manufacturing techniques and their impact on costs

• Basic knowledge of materials and materials testing

• Project management skills

• Action and result-oriented mindset

• Innovation spirit, ability to challenge the existing and to think "out of the box"

• Excellent communication skills and team spirit

• Fluent in English and solid bases of French

• Self-driven, motivated, and autonomous
