Global Head of Communications - High Voltage Products (f/m/d)

As the Global Head of Communications for Business Unit (BU) High Voltage Products, you are responsible to lead the BU communications across geographies and stakeholder groups to maximize visibility and support global business strategy and growth. You are also responsible provide strategic guidance for global internal and external communications programs, in line with Company Communications strategy and positioning, ensure executional excellence in all communications measures for the global business and support the BU leadership in all communications matters. You will report to the Global Head of Communications, Hitachi Energy and to the Managing Director of BU High Voltage Products.

Your responsibilities

  • You will provide leadership, define strategy and support implementation in all areas of Communications across the Business Unit
  • You will develop and ensure a coherent, integrated communications strategy and brand positioning throughout the Business Unit
  • Developing communications programs, positioning and messaging for internal and external stakeholders is also part of your job responsibilities
  • You will establish media and content strategy for the Business Unit, coordinate and supervise media relations work in alignment with Company Media Relations, Regions and Countries
  • As a consultant to the global Business Unit leadership team you will ensure timely key communications opportunities (e.g crisis communications)
  • You will manage the communications budget for the global business unit and recommend communications programs to maximize efficiency and minimize overlap within the business unit
  • You will lead a team of 4 Communications personnel based in various locations across the globe including mentoring, directing and developing individual and team capabilities

Your background

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or other relevant related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant global experience with proven track record, and an interest in technology, preferably in energy sector
  • Strategic, analytical and creative thinking combined with hands-on approach to translate plans to actions that are measurable
  • Cross functional communication skills (i.e. internal, external, media, digital, marketing communications)
  • Ability to handle complex projects to meet demanding deadlines
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Experience in change management and transformation a plus
  • Business knowledge in energy industry an advantage
  • Fluency in English - both spoken and written. Other languages are an added advantage
