Contracts Manager

Lead the provision of contract management services for Hitachi Energy Grid Automation portfolio ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with Group/Business Unit directives and instructions including Company procedures and the Contract Management Framework.

Your responsibilities:

• You will ensure the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures and per contract terms, work with the Tender & Execution teams to ensure that the contracts are adhering to Hitachi Energy policies for Insurance, Trade Compliance & HSE by engaging and coordinating with in-house Subject Matter Experts.

• You will review and comments on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions, develop contract strategy based on Hitachi Energy policies, customer requirements, and the overall execution strategy considering risks, pricing, scope, and schedule for both customer & major suppliers.

• Help building Purchase Orders'/ Subcontracts' Terms & Conditions to ensure major equipment and service purchases contain appropriate T&Cs to protect Hitachi Energy interests, including but not limited to flow-down of main contract terms.

• You will work with Tender & Project Execution teams to identify contract baseline and areas of potential risks, together with Legal develop the negotiation strategy and risk mitigations, leverage existing project management tools, work with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution of portfolio of contracts, supports execution team to identify scope creep, time and cost compensation due to Hitachi Energy.

• You will defend and enforce Hitachi Energy contractual position against customer and suppliers during the entire project life cycle and support Legal handling formal dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration, notify and liaises with Legal to report major claims and keeps Legal updated of any critical development during project execution.

• Work with the Execution team for closure and lessons learned/best practices for future contracts and you will adhere to and enforces an integrity culture as mandated by Hitachi Energy.

Your background:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or law.

• 8 to 10 years of contracts management in Engineering, procurement & construction environment.

• Proficient with MS Word, Excel.

• Demonstrated Negotiation skills, knowledge of FIDIC contracts (yellow/orange/red book) is an advantage.

• Communications & presentation skills and excellent level of English required.
