The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Your Responsibilities:
Define sustainability supply chain priorities, defining scope, timeline, training, dependencies, and roadmaps to realize them, leading the process and tools deployment cross regions.
Drive and ensure sustainability is further integrated into our other supply base management processes like supplier qualification, performance evaluation, classification and in our sourcing activities.
Global SCM sustainability strategy: Develop, maintain, deploy, manage, and refine a global SCM Sustainability & Compliance strategy into the GPG, securing a more sustainable future supply base. You will be Global Manager for our supplier sustainability assessment and ranking program enabled by our external service provider Eco Vadis. This is managed as a project with strong involvement of the SCM sustainability managers and the category managers of our business within Hitachi Energy.
Monitor and support the expansion, improvements, and implementation of Supplier Sustainability Development Program, which is managed by a separate global lead.
Own the Supplier Code of Conduct, maintain it in close collaboration with Integrity, Trade and others and provide training. Secure the business and functions drive full supplier awareness, understanding and compliance.
Define, implement, and maintain a process and tool for product CO2 mapping supplied by suppliers in close cooperation with our central Environmental function.
Ensure to deploy compliance programs and processes within the BU SCM to meet relevant laws and regulations (REACH, ROHS, ECHA, SCIP Database, Conflict Minerals Regulation, etc)
Set a process to continuously improve existing SCM Sustainability processes
Improve SCM sustainability communication overall, including the content on our internal and external websites, SharePoint etc.
Your Background:
Have B.E (Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation) with 10+ Years of domain experience.
Solid and successful experience in implementing global sustainability program(s) in large, international organization(s), preferably with focus on procurement.
Track record of successfully implementing common processes, systems and training programs in complex, global organizations
