General Information:

The Project Controller supports Project Managers and the Local Product Group Manager in all financial and commercial matters and actively drives the financial performance of individual projects and the operating unit.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Tender Stage
  • Support the tender manager on financial aspects. Provide input to negotiations on commercial issues. Identify and emphasize risks and opportunities in local tender risk reviews.
  • Project execution
  • Provide input to the project execution plan on financial aspects. Ensure that project budgets are up to date and maintained throughout the project’s life cycle. Drive and seek for optimization of project cash flow, revenue, and profit margins together with Project Managers. Oversee currency risk, bonds and guarantees, and tax issues.
  • Project Risk Management
  • Prepare and conduct monthly project reviews with Project Managers. Identify opportunities and risks, monitor that required mitigation actions are timely implemented. Ensure that all financial aspects of every project are accurately reflected in SAP, including milestone planning and billing, estimated cost to complete, purchase commitments, forecasted revenue, and cash flow. Verify at project completion that all performance obligations have been delivered according to contract and that costs have been correctly recorded.
  • Project Accounting
  • Understand the principals of project cost accounting, including criteria for revenue recognition over time and at a point in time. Prepare project invoices, financial accounting and reporting (including project site accounting). Be responsible for the correctness of project profit and loss statements as well as for cash flow and monthly/quarterly forecast.
  • Commercial Terms
  • Provide support on claim management, back-charges and insurance cases and monitor the proper follow up together with the Project Managers up-stream (towards customer), side-stream (towards consortia partner) as well as down-stream (towards suppliers).
  • Financial Planning & Budgeting
  • Establish the annual budget for the operating unit and report monthly the progress to the management. Identify deviations and define counter measures together with the Management to achieve the operating unit’s annual targets. Participate in strategic planning discussions and translate results into financial plans that guide the business to profitable growth.
  • Compliance & Internal Control
  • Enforce the adherence to corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal controls, group charter, business specific finance directives and instructions.

Your Background:

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 plus years of financial project based experience

  • SAP Knowledge
