Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. As a Local Product Group of High Voltage Products, the High Current Systems unit is responsible for the development, sales, manufacturing, and service of generator circuit-breaker systems. For our Generator Circuit Breaker factory in Zurich Oerlikon, we are looking for an Area marketing and sales manager who will be responsible for sales and business development of GCB market within a designated area in accordance with Global Product Group strategy. Build long term customer relationships and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues. Identify and develop sales opportunities, by supporting local sales organization to have relevant knowledge of products and markets. Being customer’s technical advisor for GCB applications, interacting with Project Management, Application and Product Management Team. Your responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of GCB offering, and align to provide a solution
  • Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
  • Supports the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers
  • Provides technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations and offers product/solution related training. Responsible for defining the transfer price and selling the entire GCB Portfolio to local Sales organization focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for Global Product Group
  • Ensures appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including proper contract negotiation and commercial conditions
  • Ensures efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers
  • Participates in sales strategy discussions for assigned area, agrees short and long term goals and negotiates the Product Group sales budget
  • Creates the area Product Group sales plans together with local sales organization

Your background

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Previous experience in the field of power generation plants would be an advantage
  • 5 years’ experience in marketing and sales roles
  • Business fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken; additional language skills beneficial
  • High customer orientation
  • Team working skills
  • Willingness to travel (40%) and work in a global team
