Reporting to the US Digital Services Manager within the newly formed Digital Services Team, as a branch of Hitachi Energy’s Transformer Components and Services, we aim to unlock customer value using data through our transformer monitoring and software technologies. As the Digital Services Field Service Engineer you will be the product, installation, and support expert, for all US offerings, in the digital services portfolio. This is an exciting and unique role where you will be challenged with delivering complex transformer digital systems. Designed for someone who likes to be onsite turning wrenches, passionate about technology and has an interest in converting standard transformers into “Smart” transformers.
Your responsibilities
- Delivering outstanding and professional service, remotely or on-site, in key categories, e.g. installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services and replacements.
- Exceeding customer expectations by understanding and anticipating current and potential needs
- Installation of Transformer Hardware, Sensor, and Accessories
- Installation of Transformer Software, Configuration of Transformer Software, License Initialization, Firmware Upgrades, Hardware and Software integration Testing
- Physical Communication connectivity, Communication Configuration, Communication Testing, and validation
- Onsite Project Execution, Onsite Troubleshooting, Technical Drawing Support, Process improvement
Your background
- Associate degree in engineering or related field and up to 1 year of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
- Performed tasks requiring the ability to read and work from applicable electrical and mechanical drawings, and/or instruction and technical manuals.
- Comfortable using Laptop and associated MS Office tools
- Up to 50 – 70% Regular domestic travel which is an essential component of this position
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
