Hitachi energy is seeking an EPC Project Coordinator for its Kansas City, MO location. This role works directly with customers, account managers and Power Grids businesses. The organization is responsible for the development and implementation of proactive programs responding to customer requirements, assisting in achieving equitable solutions as well as the co-ordination of investigations of complaints. The overall mission of the Project Coordinator position is to provide a consistent base for support as measured by internal and external customer satisfaction indices (net promoter score – NPS).

Your responsibilities

  • The Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of daily work activities with outside Account Manager(s) to manage complex customers’ needs in EPC and industrial customers with a focus on the Power Grids business.
  • Responsible for the execution of daily customer activities including order entry and tracking; order management with local business units, including timely response to customers inquiries with appropriate Power Grids solution; quantify and resolve customer complaints and needs.
  • With account team, facilitate and run Kick Off meetings and Project Calls. Maintains and controls all project documentation including drawings, specifications, correspondence, purchase orders, invoices, claims and reports, could include end of Project Request for Feedback.
  • Responsible for coordinating activities with business units to track orders and assure on-time customer delivery, including but not limited to monitoring and tracking document submittals, monitoring commercial requirements, and obtaining documentation such as COIs, LOCs, Waivers, and others as required by the Contract.
  • Coordinate input from Power Grids businesses to ensure bid proposals meet customer requirements. Simultaneously process information on multiple and varied projects and respond effectively to changes in priorities.
  • Attend meetings to exchange information and analyze contract requirements. Participate in investigating technical problems and establishing procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences. Duties may require domestic or international travel to customer location or Power Grids site.
  • Coordination of activities post order entry, such as initiate change orders, manage delivery requirements, and expedite collection of overdue invoices. Coordinate, troubleshoot, and expedite
  • Coordinate specific EPC/C&I proposal activities with appropriate BU and Legal departments to meet bid requirements. Close coordination with account managers to meet business and customer objectives.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business or related field;
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical customer support experience in the Industrial, Utility or related fields;
  • Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments;
  • General knowledge of power transmission & distribution products/systems preferred;
  • Previous experience with business to business customer support preferred;
  • Must have knowledge and skill in utilization of computer databases and Project based programs.
  • Combination of education and experience demonstrating ability for complex assignment and/or promotable within the Power Grids sales organization.
