Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Payroll Specialist for it's Raleigh, NC location. This role is responsible for preparation and distribution of payroll, maintenance of individual payroll records, garnishments, and reports. It also consists of calculating such matters as overtime, shift differentials and making subsequent adjustments, as applicable.
Your responsibilities
- Processes end-to-end payroll activities, including off-cycle payrolls and ensures that all employee earnings and deductions, at point of final calculation, are accurate and are made in compliance with payroll wage and tax legal requirements and Hitachi internal compensation policies within payroll system.
- Performs reconciliations, audits, and overpayment recovery activities.
- Administers garnishments and partners with 3rd party (ADP) to ensure garnishments are processed accurately and timely.
- Resolves ServiceNow (AskHR) cases accurately and timely, while also providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborates with team along with various workstreams to resolve employee inquiries/cases within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe.
- Documents the source, seeks proper approvals, determines any necessary transactions & document them according to Hitachi policies that will effectively substantiate actions taken.
- Resolves payroll issues and provides expert payroll knowledge regarding special payrolls, garnishments, and taxation.
- Ensures compliance with Hitachi policies, regulations, wage and tax laws, segregation of duties, SOX and other federal and state legislation impacting payroll.
- Provides payroll guidance and awareness of applicable changes and provides appropriate recommendations.
- Streamlines and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); recommends and implements improvements and provides solutions to Human Resources and Finance.
- Supports business process strategies for end-to-end Payroll processes to achieve efficiency, productivity, and improved control.
- Creates ad-hoc payroll data reports and provides accurate data to management and business partners as needed.
- Assists with Year-End payroll processing activities.
- Assists with tax related discrepancies and inquiries.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Your background
- Bilingual (French and English). High School diploma and minimum 4 years of experience within a Human Resources (HR)/Payroll/Finance related role; OR Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of experience within a HR/Payroll/Finance related role. Knowledge of ADP Globalview payroll application.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
