We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in Electrical Engineering and/or Applied Physics to contribute to a sustainable energy future for all. You will develop novel power semiconductor packaging technologies as well as innovative power module designs at our research center in Baden/CH.
Perform research on novel and innovative concepts for the next generations of power semiconductor modules, in particular based on wide bandgap materials Bring together simulation and design optimization methods, prototyping in a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment, and advanced performance and reliability testing to develop and demonstrate novel packaging concepts for our next generation of high-power semiconductor devices Propose, plan, contribute to, or lead multidisciplinary research projects in close collaboration with Hitachi Energy business units, other research centers, external universities, and industrial partners Build a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise, provide consultancy to business units Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
PhD in applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related field Ambition for technical, project or people leadership Hands-on experience working in a cleanroom or in assembly of delicate components Demonstrated experience using simulation tools, in particular for modeling of electromagnetic and/or thermal behavior of complex systems Motivation to develop tools for electrical loss optimization and thermal performance of power modules for different applications and mission profiles Experience in measurement electronics, circuit design and signal processing are considered as a strong plus Proven track record of publications at international conferences or in high-impact scientific journals Excellent communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity Fluency in English (written and spoken), willingness to learn German is welcome
