Senior Commissioning Engineer - Commissioning Manager - HVDC

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

The Commissioning Manager preferably participates in the test room tests including Factory System Test. He or she organizes and manages Hitachi's activities related to all "on site tests activities" and operation before handing over the project to customer. He/she is also involved in the planning and preparation of the commissioning program for the project. Furthermore he/she is responsible for the writing of the detailed subsystem and system test instructions as applicable.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the supervision, testing and commissioning of control, protection and SAS for substations and HVDC Systems. 

  • You will create detail commissioning plan and mobilize resources required for commissioning of the HVDC station.

  • You will provide necessary technical expertise & supports the Site manager and Project manager in managing the resources and timelines.

  • You will build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. 

  • You will be monitoring the progress and take necessary actions to complete the commissioning activities as per the stipulated timelines.

  • Prepare Inspection Test plan and Inspection Test reports and & Carry equipment test, Sub-system test and System test as per the plan.

  • Maintain all documentation as per the latest ISO 9001 quality standards and document management system.

  • Be flexible to work seamlessly to Collaborate with all required stakeholders (Installation, Construction, HSE Teams) at site. 

  • Provides solutions and technical support to the commissioning engineers at site. 

  • Work involves travel to different locations across India or any part of the world to commission the HVDC systems.

Your background:

  • Have Education BE /B.Tech in Electrical.

  • Should have experience 2 to 5 years of knowledge HV / EHV sub-station commissioning.

  • Experience in MACH control system.

  • Experience in technical tender support or bidding. 

  • Leadership and administrative skills with strong Communication.

  • Experience in using special primary test kits.

  • Good knowledge of Office tools.
