R&D Engineer – UX Designer in HVDC Digital R&D

We are looking for a UX Designer that will help pave the way for our digital platforms.

You will be working in an agile team setup in a Global Environment, with colleagues in Poland that is cooperating with teams in India and Sweden. You will report to the local department but also to the Global R&D functions for digital solutions in HVDC. 

 

The team is working in an agile way where all team members are expected to contribute with their knowledge and experiences to achieve the common goals for the development of the products. This means that the team is doing breakdown of activities together, collaborate within the team as well as seeking collaboration with other relevant teams in (and sometimes outside) the HVDC organization. 

Your responsibilities 

  • Work creatively and independently to solve UX problems and proactively find and implementing the solutions (e.g. usability, findability). 

  • Be a bridge between our different solutions, internal users, Product Managers and Customers in translating requirements into mockups and designs that can be picked up by our frontend and backend developers. 

  • Continuously strive to increase the user experience on our delivered solutions as well as making sure that the User stays in focus for the new solutions we develop. 

  • Develop wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. 

  • Plan and conduct user research to understand users' and customers' needs for developing product ideas in different stages. 

  • Apply UCD methods to evaluate your design and gather users feedback. 

  • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success. 

  • Identify the need and establish user guides and requirements for user documentation. 

  • Work closely with stakeholders, PM/PO, developers to refine and handoff design deliverables. 

  • Apply and contribute to company's design system and guidelines. 
     

Your background 

  • 3+ years of experience and fluent English. 

  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role 

  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows and process flows 

  • Proficiency working with design tools like Figma is a must 

  • Strong communicational skills for dialogues both with users and stakeholders, but also with the developers 

  • Beneficial:  

  • Experience in establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards. 

  • Experience in working with multiple product teams. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in interaction design, psychology, HCI, computer science or an equal field of study 

  • Experience working with applications visualizing 3D/2D models 

  • Experience working with Digital Twin applications 

  • Experience of software development. Knowledge of front-end development technology stacks. 

  • Experience working in an agile methodology process.
