General information:

This role is responsible for working from drawings and specification sheets, set up and operate machines, assist in maintaining equipment is in good condition, keep area clean, handle material and assist other case department operators in measuring, positioning, holding or moving parts and materials

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machines such as, presses, press brakes, shears, rolls, tube-forming machines, drills and saws.
  • Shot blast to remove scale, slag, and dirt from tanks and parts
  • Chip weld splatter and clean tanks
  • Grind surfaces as required
  • Flush tanks to thoroughly remove dirt, grit and scale
  • Check transformer tanks for leaks
  • Assist other case department operators in measuring, positioning, and holding, or moving parts and materials

Your background:

  • Diploma of vocational (welding) studies preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills acquired through previous experience.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge in material handling and operation of hand power tools.
  • Knowledge of properly reading and understanding assembly/fabrication prints.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivated. Work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent attendance and quality of work record
  • Working understanding of basic math
  • Able to read a tape measure
