Transformers Expert for Rectifiers (f/m/d)

In this role you will be responsible for supporting and execution of activities that are contributing to successful development and market introduction of Industrial & Speciality (I&S) Transformers. Your focus will be on technology development, project management and design software improvements within given domain. Working closely with the global technology team managing I&S product line comprising transformer product families of Renewable GSU (including WindSTAR), Variable Speed Drive (VSD), Rail Infrastructure, Furnace, Rectifier, Mobile, Offshore, Marine and Subsea. 

 

Your responsibilities

  • Utilizing technical expertise to drive and complete activities related to introduction of new features and technology within I&S Transformer product line (specially on Rectifiers), both in technology and engineering design. Supporting design, production and testing of Transformers 
  • Collection of requirements and definition of the specification for new features and improvements of the global design platform, related to design and verification tools. Ensuring own domain is functional and effective for the global engineering team 
  • Close cooperation with factories and global functions during execution of pilot projects. 
  • Assistance and support during transfer of technology projects across factories 
  • Support the product platform with the creation of new and the update of existing technical standards, methods, and reports 
  • Providing technology and technical training to designers and expertise support to the engineering teams 

 

 Your requirements

  • Successful study (Bachelor or Masters) in Electrical Engineering 
  • At least 5 years of significant professional experience in designing of electrical machines. Strong preference for experience in transformer design within power transformer technology, especially (but not limited to) those related to railway and rectifier transformers 
  • Skills in field simulations (2D and 3D magnetic simulations) will be an advantage 
  • Project Management experience will be an advantage 
  • Design Tools owner competencies within Agile methodology will be an advantage as well as involvement in development of software design tools (creation and/or specification) 
  • Willing to work in a remote and diverse environment 
  • Willingness to travel to factories when needed 
  • Good communication and presentation skills 
  • Fluent English, experience with writing technical papers and/or reports
