Business Development Manager

General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Business Development Manager for its NC, Raleigh location.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Anticipating as well as understanding customer needs and projecting solutions.
  • Assess viability of large projects from a historical, financial, competitive, risk and execution prospective.
  • Propose optimum partner, suppliers and contract execution setup.
  • Initiate, Coordinate, Launch and Lead capture teams for each individual pursuit ensuring interaction throughout each level of the organization (senior management, tendering, SCM, engineering, etc.).
  • Maintain momentum of a large virtual EP team during multiyear sales cycles while working closely with the key internal and external suppliers to optimize the best total solution.
  • Preparation of material for internal governance and approval process.
  • Participate as a senior representative or leader in final sales negotiations of several hundred million-dollar projects.

Your Background:

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in energy industry in the areas of EP project, transmission & distribution, or utility/transmission developer experience. Background in HVDC highly preferred.
  • A keen interest for complexities, sense of urgency and persistence in achieving goals.
  • Industry expert with the credibility and name in the industry.
  • Experience in managing complex pursuits in matrix organization and proven record to close multi hundred-million-dollar contracts.
  • History of developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Profound sense of quality and keeping commitments and doing the right thing right away
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
